Dental Hygiene

A beautiful, healthy smile can do wonders for your self-esteem and confidence. The ability to flash your teeth without embarrassment or worry is a liberating thing and the single best thing you can do to keep your pearly whites in great shape is to practice good dental hygiene. We want you to be fully informed about the importance of dental hygiene, regular professional teeth cleanings and the best ways to keep your teeth free from damage.

Bacteria are everywhere in this world and are always in the mouth. The goal of dental hygiene is to keep their numbers at a minimum and to prevent their acidic excretions from making holes in tooth enamel and infecting the gums.

Inhalation Sedation (laughing Gas)

Inhalation sedation using nitrous oxide can help you handle nervousness, pain, or gag reflex difficulties during dental procedures. Nitrous oxide (N2O), or laughing gas, is simply a gas that you breathe in through your nose. This colorless, sweet-smelling, and nonirritating gas is the most commonly used type of the inhalation sedation in dental offices. It will help you feel calm, comfortable, and less sensitive to pain.

Cosmetic Dentistry

We will work with you to determine the best procedure for your individual care. If you have teeth that are chipped, cracked, broken, widely spaced, crooked, etc., we may recommend porcelain veneers or dental bonding. Tooth whitening can eliminate or reduce tooth stains and discoloration. At Charming Smiles Dental Center we can perform the following procedures:
1) Lumineers
2) Veneers
3) Whitening
4) Bonding
5) Inlays and Onlays

Tooth restorations are the various ways your dentist can replace or restore missing teeth or missing parts of the tooth structure. Tooth structure can be missing due to decay, deterioration of a previously placed restoration, or fracture of a tooth. At Charming Smiles Dental Center we provide the following restorative procedures:
1) Bridges
2) Crowns
3) Denture
4) Bonding

Dental Implant

Do you have trouble wearing dentures? Perhaps you find that your dentures:

  • Do not stay in place
  • Trigger the gag reflex
  • Feel uncomfortable

If you have wrestled with any of these problems, dental implants could be the answer. Dental implants are synthetic tooth roots embedded in the jawbone. They fill the gap left by a lost tooth root and prevent the bone and gum tissue from shrinking into it. At Charming Smiles Dental Center we perform both Single Implant or Implant over Denture procedures.

Oral Surgery

With advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial problems, our dentists are qualified to provide treatments such as the removal of wisdom teeth, extraction, and socket preservation.

Emergency Dentistry

As a dental practice, we receive calls every day from patients in pain seeking immediate services and dental service after normal business hours.  Our doctors have designed their schedules to accommodate the needs of patients seeking urgent dental care. We offer weekend appointments to meet the needs of working patients who seek relief from pain.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer screening is currently the best known guard in the fight against oral disease and oral cancer. The occurrence of mucosal abnormalities and pre-cancerous conditions is on the rise and oral health assessment is fast becoming a topic that dental health practitioners must tackle.

Most dentists recommend an oral exam during your routine dental visit to screen for oral cancer. During an oral exam, your dentist looks over the inside of your mouth to check for red or white patches or mouth sores. Using gloved hands, your dentist also feels the tissues in your mouth to check for lumps or other abnormalities.Detecting oral abnormalities early leads to more treatment options, potentially less invasive or radical treatments and better patient outcomes.

Endodontics is the science of treating problems with the tissue inside the tooth (dental pulp). When this tissue or the tissue surrounding the tooth root is diseased or damaged due to decay or trauma, endodontic treatment is typically needed to save the tooth. Endodontics at Charming Smiles Dental Center can cover the following procedures:
. Root Canal
 . Apicocetomy
. Retreatment

We see many children in our practice for routine cleanings, cavity-detection x-rays, fluoride treatments, and routine dental procedures. We make every effort to help apprehensive children feel at ease during their visits with us. Parents are welcome to come back with their child during each visit if they prefer. We also offer nitrous oxide gas and athletic mouth guards to help your child relax during dental treatment. It is recommended that your child have his or her first dental visit with us no later than age 3 if not sooner.

We also provide the following pediatric procedures:
1)Sealants and Fluoride
2)Mouth Gards
3)Restorative Care

At Charming Smiles Dental Center we are concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of functional and structural diseases of the periodontal membrane and related tissues that surround and support the teeth. Degeneration or inflammation of these tissues can be caused by various systemic or local diseases or by poor oral hygiene. Most commonly, periodontal diseases are caused by hardened  bacteria, called bacterial plaque, which adheres to teeth and destroys periodontal tissue. We perform Crown Lengthening, Scaling, Root Planning (Deep Cleaning), and Gum Recontouring, and use Arestin, a commoly used antibiotic in many of our procedures.

Using Invisalign at Charming Smiles Dental Center we take a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners customly created for you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and nearly invisible plastic that you wear. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place over time, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won't even know you're straightening your teeth.
